HOW IT BEGAN:
Hi there, I’m Michelle, owner, operator, and floral designer at Barks & Blooms. I have been a Neonatal ICU nurse for over 15 years and have had a passion for flowers even longer. My journey started out when my sister asked me to create a fresh bouquet for my nephews formal and has slowly blossomed into arrangements and special events. I currently reside in Morgantown, WV with my husband Andrew and my pup Boone. I’m just a local gal who would love nothing more than to be a part of your special day. Creating magic with blooms truly fulfills my heart.
Sincerely,
Michelle

“I have had the pleasure of witnessing Michelle’s talent and creativity firsthand for my daughters homecoming dance. Her work with fresh flowers is nothing short of remarkable. Her ability to blend colors, textures, and forms in a way that harmonizes with any environment is truly awe-inspiring. There is an abundance of fresh flowers, with meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for design. She consistently transforms mere floral components into breathtaking arrangements that captivate and delight all who behold them. Moreover, Michelle’s dedication to sourcing only the finest and freshest flowers further enhances the quality of her work. Her arrangements not only act as a visual delights but would add a touch of class to any event you entrusted her to create.”

Mission:
On top of my background as a nurse and having a passion for flowers, I am a huge animal lover. I grew up with horses, dogs, and cats. I am proud to say that a small percentage of each event gets donated to my clients animal rescue or charity of choice. This is my way of giving back, saying thank you, and staying true to my heart.
On April 10th, 2024 we lost our beloved Golden Girl, Miss Abbey, after a battle with cancer. Abbey’s journey to us didn’t come until later in life. She was a 7 year old rescue that her prior owners left at the pound after breeding her for years. She was timid, didn’t know a treat, a toy, or a warm bed, but all of that quickly changed and she blossomed into the sweetest, most loving angel of a pup.
All she ever wanted was to be by your side and she expected nothing in return. She showed us what unconditional love was and the appreciation for the smaller things in life. She made us better humans and in return everyday we gave her the love and respect she deserved. She was pure joy and we miss her everyday.
Abbey will be our guiding light for our mission to help those shelter animals in need and all that I do will be to honor her.
“Our Beloved Abbey “
